POLICE, THE COURTS, AND INCARCERATIONINTRO
The criminal justice system functions off of the established notion of equal protection under the law, while also maintaining a duty and dedication to the equity of those who have been wronged. Yet, like most man made systems and the number of other branches that function from it, error permeates the system and in an area as consequential as this one, identification of these errors and the committed remedying of said faults is paramount. Acknowledgement, education, and accountability is essential to the functionality of the system so integral to preserving the balance of society. In the modern world where accessibility to news and information is instantaneous, these factors have never been more important in both the domestic and global sense. We can only trust the rectitude of this system, when we ourselves focus on its successes with equal, if not more, fervor with its failures.
