2017 SEPTEMBER PUBLIC FORUM
2:00-4:00PM, Saturday, September 16th
Herndon Library: 4324 E. Colonial Drive 32803

With the featured issue for the month of September being CONFLICT: THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF WAR, we will take a look at several of the world's most active conflict zones: Nigeria, Congo, Syria/Iraq, Yemen, Myanmar, and Mexico.
Between now and Sept. 16th, use the Learning Resources below to gain a better understanding of the factors that contribute to violence and the conditions that people endure in the afflicted areas. While watching the videos and reading the articles below, look for similarities between the situations and look for aspects of each that make them unique. Also, consider the following question:
Are there conditions here in Orlando and around the United States that could lead to the sort of violence that exists elsewhere? If so, do you have any thoughts, ideas, or opinions on how those conditions should be addressed?
This question will be part of our discussion on September 16th. To join the conversation now, you can use the questions/comments box at the bottom of this page.
