REFUGEES IN EUROPE

Due in large part to war in Syria and Iraq, as well as conflict and instability in countries such as Afghanistan, Eritrea and elsewhere, Europe's influx of refugees has increased dramatically in the past few years. Many refugees attempting to escape violence and conflict travel to Europe by crossing the Mediterranean Sea. This dangerous journey has claimed the lives of thousands of hopeful civilians including infants and young children.

Thousands of refugees camp on the borders of countries such as Greece and Serbia; enduring blistering weather and inhumane living conditions while they await assistance/entry to the country. With an increased concern for terrorist attacks, countries have heightened security and distrust, making it harder for refugees to make any advances.
