SPRING 2026 TOPIC DISCUSSION
Albertson Room - Third Floor - Orlando Public Library - April 19, 2026, 2:00-4:00pm
CAN WE TRUST OUR INFORMATION SOURCES?
-
As we work to inform ourselves on matters of true importance and to understand how the world works around us, how do know if the information we are receiving is true?
Throughout our lives, we are subjected to information. We spend at least 12 of our first 18 years in school. We have TVs, radios, and computers. We listen to the opinions of our neighbors and co-workers, and it happens all the time that someone is telling us that they are right and we are wrong and we need to think the way they do. And now, we're only at the beginning of the Artificial Information (AI) era.
With all of this information coming our way, how do we determine what is true and what is false, and how do we protect ourselves from organized efforts to mislead us?
