YEMEN

Yemen is currently undergoing the largest humanitarian crisis in the world and is in danger of being wiped off the map completely. Since the conflict between the government and Houthis escalated in March 2015, Yemen's people have been trying to survive in the middle of a civil war. 24 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. This includes the two million children under the age of five suffering from malnutrition. In the midst of pandemics like COVID-19 and endemics such as cholera, only half of Yemen's health facilities are fully functioning and around 14 million Yemenis have little or no access to healthcare. Of those hospitals, many lack basic health equipment, including masks and gloves, that are essential to treating the ill.
