CHILDREN AT RISK
UNITED STATES

Children are recognized as a vulnerable population that must be protected. Even our constitution has provisions to ensure a child’s safety, freedom, and ability to live with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Despite children’s constitutional and social importance, there are national travesties done towards children that threaten their safety and rights. Understanding U.S. children's educational, familial, and social environments as well as how the political sphere treats children takes us a step closer to identifying these dangers. It is important to address these threats as they do not just risk children’s lives currently – but also threaten their ability to healthily grow to be well-rounded, law-abiding, and open-minded citizens.
