Across the world, citizens are facing the impacts of gun violence; this epidemic is affecting economies, politics and lives. As you will see below, gun violence is an issue because policy does not address strictly and directly who should and who shouldn't own a gun. Additionally, because of easy it is to smuggle guns into certain countries or purchase them illegally, gangs, terrorists, and individuals that wish to harm other people are getting easy access to weaponry. Countries like Australia and Japan, through their policies, have decreased significantly the number of deaths by gun violence, so, their policies should make us question: Why do we want to carry guns and how did this belief develop?
